What is a Teleclass??

Quite simply it's learning on the phone.

Teleclasses are live, interactive training classes conducted over the telephone, using a telephone "bridge" line.

A bridge is simply a telephone line that allows groups of 2 or more people - up to hundreds at one time - to be on the line at the same time.

It is no different to phoning a friend - you just have many friends on the call at once!

You can call from the comfort of your home or office while eliminating travel time and expenses.

You can be in Australia, New Zealand, USA, or anywhere that has a phone line.

The advantages of a Teleclass are:

•  You don't waste time travelling to and from class

•  You can call in from any landline phone, so you can be on the call from your office or your home - anywhere that has a phone

•  You don't need to leave the house

•  No need for a babysitter, you can be on calls while the kids are sleeping or at school

•  It's a really cost effective way of learning

•  You meet like minded people on the call

•  You get to know all the other people on the call and often make great friends

•  You get to feel part of a community and share the ups and downs of running a small business.

•  You get to learn in your pyjamas! (My favs are my pink cow pj's)

What will happen

When you register for the class you will be given a phone number to a bridge line. This is just like a telephone line, except it can put multiple people on one call.

At the designated time, you will phone into the bridge line using a calling card, which you will pre-purchase (Calling cards are the most cost effective way to make the calls, but you can also use your standard carrier if you get a great deal with them)

You will also be given a code that you will punch into the keypad on your phone when prompted and that will place you in the classroom.

There you will find me waiting for the class to come on line. As each class member drops onto the call, you will be welcomed and encouraged to speak with the group.

During the call, I will be teaching on the subject of the week. The calls are interactive, you can ask questions or participate in any exercises we may do. There could be live coaching going on or you just may wish to comment or share a story that re-inforces the learning.

Teleclasses allow you to meet other practitioners in a safe environment and allow you to share and feel part of a community. Many long term friendships have formed outside teleclass groups.

There are usually three ways you can experience the call

1. You can dial in and participate live on the call – the downside is that the technology for this is in the USA – hence why I recommend a phone card which will make the call $1 for the hour.  If I do the call on a straight Telstra line it costs around $10 per hour so the phone card is a significant saving.

2. You can listen to the call live on your computer – this is called a webcast.  So you will be emailed a web link after you register and you just click on the link for the call at the class time and providing you have speakers you can listen to the call live – downside is that you can’t participate in the call but it is free to listen.

3. You will get a recording of the call emailed to you after the call has finished – this is an mp3 file which you can listen to on your computer (providing you have that facility and speakers) and there are many free programs you can load that will do that such as i-tunes or real audio or you could download the mp3 file to your i-pod or similar device and listen to it that way.

If you are still confused I have created a step by step guide to making teleconference calls. Click here to print your copy.

Also you can listen to this quirky little audio I did late one night (sitting in my office, all on my ownsome, talking to myself) that might help you become more confident to get yourself onto a call.

Please don't let the fear of the unknown stop you from participating in learning experinces that could change your life. Trust me - once you have done it once, you will be hooked!

You can either email me or phone me on 03 5348 2552 and I'll be happy to answer any questions or give you more information about the classes - just don't leave it to a few minutes before the class starts to call because I'll be preparing for the call.

So please join me on a teleclass. I just know you are going to love it and I guarantee we'll have fun together.
