What It's Not

If you like to go along to events and get yourself all ra-ra'd up and have someone shamelessly sell you on-going courses, worth thousands of dollars, and all you manage to achieve from them is a maxed out credit card, that takes the next five years to off pay off, then this event is NOT for you.

What It Is

The Tough Love Business Boot Camp is just what it says. It’s a hard talking, solid advice, downloaded from our hearts to you, business building weekend.

This is a no frills, no fluffy stuff type of format, and yep we will be prepared to kick your butt a little if you are being all wimpy and nervous - if that is what it takes.

Both presenters are passionate about helping people grow successful businesses and we see workshops and seminars as a really important aspect when you have knowledge to share with others. So our main aim is to see you leave with all the facts you need to get your workshops and seminars happening - it’s that simple!

What's more we will help you feel confident speaking in front of your groups, by sharing firstly what you need to do but more importantly pointing out what you don't need to do. The latter part is something that will rarely occur where people tell you honestly what you can't see. I know I can never have anything in my hand when I speak because I fiddle with it unconsciously, which distracts from my message. These small big things can make or break how you come across to an audience.

We are prepared to share what we have learnt so you don't have to endure the tears both of us have encountered at the cliff face of live events!

Who Is Running It?

Myself, Margaret Gill of Abundant Private Practices and Samantha Richardson of Evolution Events.

We come from the school of hard knocks. We have learnt everything we know how to do, by doing, which is a lot different to “the theory” of doing it. Now we are going to pass that “doing” knowledge onto you.

This event is the first of a new transparent marketing concept. You all keep saying how you hate to be sold to; well so do we!  I don’t know about you, but I’m over those long slippery slope sales letter that don’t really tell you much about the event. 

So we are going to give you a transparent campaign. You will be given the facts, told how to get on the Gold Coast Event and told honestly what we have on offer.

In return you need to support us in this new way of doing things, by coming along if you are interested.  If you do, we will simply guarantee you will leave with more knowledge than you came with and it will be knowledge you can implement right away, should you choose.

Why Are We Doing It?

Sam and I have spoken at length about how frustrating it is to see people being "sold" in swisho manipulative language that is designed to get inside your brain and you end up being sold a bunch of "quick and easy pills" cleverly disguised in persuasive marketing, which plain don't work unless you are about to break through yourself. 

I have observed the ra-ra event don’t work for learners simply because they don’t have the right platform on which to build.  We are about helping you build the platform.

I've had expert marketers explain to me how to write "slippery slope" sales letters which basically I'm sick to death of and don't want a part of. In taking this stand, I'm risking loosing a lot of business because there is no doubt the slippery slope approaches sure do work.

So please, if it sounds like you, then just sign up because we don't have any tricks up our sleeve and there is nothing to be suspicious about. We just need your support in the initial stages so we can hold future events on the many other topics we know about, while keeping our bank managers happy as well.

What Are We Offering?

What we are offering here is plain, good old fashioned advice and knowledge from our journey so far. There are many times both of us should have just given up but we didn’t because we are dead serious about making a go of our business whilst also making a difference in the world. 

We are only interested in working with people who are serious about their business and just need hands on help to get where they want to be. If this is you, do yourself a favour and come along!

Who Will Benefit the Most from the event?

It's for all the people who know and understand how important running your own workshops and seminars are to your business and want to tap into the money making and time saving ability an event can give you.

Most of all though, you will be passionate about getting your message out to bigger groups of people. By groups we mean anything greater than one person.

You might be just considering starting to run an event, or you might have tried already and realised there is more to it than meets the eye. Events require a great deal of planning and unless you have inherited a set of "to do" lists from someone who has done it before, you are bound to forget most of the important stuff and end up in a bad experience. I've already been given a three page "to do" list from Sam for this event and we've only just started! Without that sort of detailed prior knowledge, let me tell you it can get very messy in the lead up to the event.

This is a hands on event where you will be given the information you need to:

1. Run your first event successfully

2. Speak confidently at your first event

Friday evening - the fun part - cocktail party, business networking and dinner (all optional)

Saturday - the learning part happens and will be class room style with a workbook to take away and at the end you can just whizz off and put it in practice yourself.

Saturday Morning

You will get all the "to do" lists Sam uses for her own events, lists of the contacts she uses - in fact she is calling it "Event in a Box" - you get the basics you will need from her 14 years experience of running events.

Saturday Afternoon

You will get me teaching the theory of "great speaking", how to bring more of yourself into your message and how to present confidently when your knees are knocking, your heart is thumping and stomach and bowels threaten to drop the lot at any given moment!

Sunday - the doing part happens and is only for 10 people max in each all day workshop - yes, that is a max of 20 people only - 10 in each class.

You are going to get a LOT of individual attention but it won't be for everyone. This is where the rubber hits the road and you get to experience the boot part of the camp!

Sunday Events Masterclass

Sam will workshop everyone through the process of designing YOUR event so you will leave with every detail "good to go" on your first event - you just need to make all the phone calls to put your plan in place when you return home.

Sunday Speaking Masterclass

I will workshop participants through the process of starting and ending a talk or workshop. I will expect all participants to get up on stage for 30 minutes and talk and be critiqued by the people in the room.

I can't tell you how priceless this is. I had it done for me at a speaking workshop in Redono Beach LA and what I left with was a true sense that "I could do it". There was no argument from my brain because I'd just spent 30 minutes actually doing it and getting feedback from a supportive audience.

You can purchase each day seperately, so you might just decide to come to the networking events or come for one day or come for the whole weekend, the latter is only available for 20 lucky people though.

To keep costs down, you will be responsible for all your food and beverage apart from morning and afternoon teas and the dinner, but there are lots of great options nearby.

Where

It will be held at Marina Quays International which is a 4 star destination resort located on the picturesque deep water marina of Hope Harbour and the inland waterways of the Coomera River.   It’s 10 minutes from the fun parks so you can bring the family (or not) and send them off for the day, while you have a guilt free day or two working solidly on your business.
